Next time – Consider Shipping Your Baggage

By January 19, 2011 No Comments

After reading up (Googling) on the possibility of shipping luggage, I decided to seriously consider this for my next vacation.

All baggage shipping services end up using FedEx, UPS, or DHL so going directly through them will save money. With FedEx you can go through a “what-if” scenario to estimate the cost involved. A home delivery 2-day service for my average bag, (normally through Delta $25), estimated on the FedEx calculator at $22.92! This was for a trip from SLC to Castle Rock, CO, dropping off at the Salt Lake Airport FedEx office a few days prior. Not bad. For the pros and cons take a look at www. SeatGuru.com. FedEx also has some great information.

The airlines are also encouraging travelers to consider this possibility.
