Christopherson Travel Group Acquires Park City's Largest Travel Agency

April 24, 2001, Salt Lake City, Utah - Christopherson Travel Group has recently acquired Avenir Travel & Adventures, Park City’s largest travel agency which will remain at 2029 Sidewinder Drive in Park City, Utah.

All former Avenir agents are joining Christopherson Travel Group as full-time employees. Former Avenir owners, Shirley Smith and Carolyn Meyer, will stay on to help with the transition and will continue to work as part of the new organization. The acquisition positions Christopherson Travel Group in the Park City/Summit County market, which Cameron believes has a lot of growth potential in light of the 2002 Winter Games.

Avenir was a full-service travel agency, specializing in travel and tours to Greece and Turkey. As part of the expanding Christopherson Travel Group, the agency will offer a full range of corporate travel services, as well as vacation packages. Services to be provided include air travel planning and reservations, ticketing, lodging, car rentals and ancillary travel services.

Through the agency sale, Christopherson Travel Group was able to expand the services offered to Avenir clients and secure jobs for Avenir agents Gary Armstrong, Deborah Christensen, Jessica Crystal, Jack Cunniff, Kathleen O'Toole, and Deborah Noertker.
